CYCLING TOURNAMENT.
[by TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Nelson, Monday. The first cycling tournament of the Nelson Bicycle Club was held in Trafalgar Park today. The day was beautifully fine, and about 2000 people were present. The following is the result of the principal races :— One Mile Roadster :E. Hounsell, 1; H. Curtis, 2; time, 3min 46sec. One Mile Safety Roadster : W. Rennell, 1 ; Mercer, 2; Reeves, 3; time, 3min 34sec. Five Mile Roadster Curtis, 1; Hounsell, 2; time, 18min 13sec. One Mile Bicycle Roadster (boys): Livick, 1 ; Trask, 2. One Mile Tricycle Handicap: L. G. Robam, 1 ; T. A. Field, 2 ; time, 4min 23sec. Ten Miles Championship, Roadsters : W. Ching, 1 ; J. C. Mercer, 2 ; A. E. Hounsell, 3; time, 39min 35sec. One Mile Ordinary Bicycle Handicap: Curtis, 1 ; A. L. Taylor, 2; Oakey, 3. •
The lectures on " Ambulance Work" will be continued this evening, in the Young Men's Christian Association Rooms, at 7.30, by Dr. Bond. He will treat on " Fractures, and what to do in cases of fainting." Valuable information is given at these lectures. Young men would do well to attend them.
