The Wdipu Mutual Improvement Association has just completed its first annual session, and a meeting was held on the 16th July for the purpose of electing officers to carry on the affairs of the association for another year. The young men of this district should take a more active interest in this society than they have hitherto evinced, as it affords them the means of exchanging and improving tHeir opinions on various subjects of public interest, as well as giving them an opportunity of acquiring confidence and cultivating fluency in public speaking. The following gentlemen are on the committee for the forthcoming session, whose names are a sufficient guarantee that the affairs of the society will be conducted in a creditable manner : —President, Rev. G. Jones; vicepresident, Mr. J. Brook; secretary, Mr. M. McLennan; and Messrs. J. McKcnzie and J. McKay.
