SCAB AT SOUTH WAIROA.

[BY TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.[

Wellington, Tuesday. Inspector Drummond telegraphs to-day to Inspector Bayley as follows :—" I have examined the sheep of Messrs. Hill Brothers, of Clevedon. My opinion is that it is not scab, but two bad cases of ringworm, which is very deceiving, and much like scab. They are also badly infested with lice. I will inspect the sheep again." The Sheep Department is considerably annoyed at beinf misled by the report of another sheep inspector as to this reported outbreak of scab. It seems that sheep cannot be legally declared infected with scab unless the acaii have been found.
