The eclipse of the moon took place last night. Owing to the clearness of the evening it was seen to great advantage, though in its early stage, about six o'clock, several passing clouds momentarily obscured the view. Considerable curiosity was manifested, and many people watched the phenomenon from start to close. The shares in the Kauri Timber Company are being rapidly taken up.
