[PKESS ASSOCIATION.] London, July 17. An Australian wheat cargo has been sold at 33s 9d. Galvanised iron, Gospel Oak brand, £16 10s. An Australian cargo of wheat has been sold at 345. The wool sales closed firm. London, July 18. Consols, 100$. New Zealand 5 per cents, are 106 ; 4 per cent, inscribed stock is 98. Tallow : best mutton, 23s 6d ; best beef, 21s 9d. Copper, £79. Tin, £81 ss. Iron, 43s 3d. Sugar, 14s 6d. Australian wheat, 34s Cd ; New Zealand long-berried, 34s 6d ; colonial barley, 25s 6d ; oats, 225. The number of bales catalogued during the present wool series was 333,000, of which 18,900 are held over for the next series. The new two and a-half consols are quoted at 99J. At the wool auctions, fine greasy and superior scoured closed at M per lb higher than the closing rates at ]ast sales, but the advance on other qualities of greasy and scoured, as shown during the previous sales, was lost. Wool.—The sales closed this day at the level of last sales, except superior greasy, superior scoured merino, and superior washed merino, which have advanced id to Id per lb; but coarse crossbred has declined £d to Id per lb. The sales comprise about 312,000 bales ; 157,000 bales have been taken for the Continent, 3000 bales have been taken for America, and 20,000 bales have been held over for future disposal. Wueat and Flour..—There is an improved feeling and some speculation ; New Zealand wheat (average) is worth 33s 9d per 4961bs ; New Zealand long-berried is worth 45s per 49Glb.=. Talj/iw.—Has been lower since last report, bub has recovered. Market steady, good beef and good mutton are worth respectively "21s Cd and 22a 9d per cwb. Leather. —Best sides are worth IOJd per lb. New Zealand Hemp.—Medium is worth £24 per ton. Frozen Meat.—Market steady. Canterbury and Wellington mutton is worth respectively 4jjd and 4£d per lb. New Zealands we worth per carcase 6£d per lb.
