[press association.] HORRIBLE ACCIDENT. Melbourne, July 19. A man named Elsland was to-day cut in half, owing to a circular saw breaking. EXTENSIVE FORGERIES. Sydney, July 19. A warrant has been issued for the arrest of Jackson, a well-known stock broker of Newcastle, on a charge of extensive forgery of bills to the amount of several thousands of pounds. It -is stated that Jackson had large betting transactions with Holt, the ex-banker, and being hard pressed by the latter for payment, forged the bills in order to stave off the crash which would have followed his being posted as a defaulter Jackson is supposed to have gone tf Manila, the capital of the Spanish set tlement in the Philippine Islands. GREAT ROBBERY. - Melbourne, July 19. Millet, a mining speculator, has been robbed of £8000 worth of scrip. % SALE OF A GREYHOUND. Melbourne, July 19. The New Zealand greyhound Rho danthe 11. has been sold for £125.
