THE. BROKEN CABLES.
[PRESS ASSOCIATION.] §
Port Darwin, July ie. Further tests made in the cable give the break as being 800 miles from this end, which is a less distance than when the cable • steamer Recorder spoke last Friday. It is believed that the cable is broken between the point where the ship spoke from and here. In view of possible further delay the cables will bo forwarded by the steamers Chingtu and Taunadice. It is thought that possibly, the steamer from Banioewangie. will arrive on Wednesday with cables bear ing the date of London, July 12th.
