THE POINT RESOLUTION AFFAIR.
MEETING OF THE COMMITTEE. [BY TELEGRAPH.—SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.]
Wellington, Thursday. The Select Committee appointed to investigate the Point Resolution business met to-day, when further correspondence was submitted and perused. I understand it was determined to telegraph to the trustees of the Anglican Native Trust Board to ascertain whether they were cognisant of the negotiations which Went on with Mr. Kissling, and the arrangements for diverting a portion of the trust reserve in lieu in freehold. They desire to have the minutes of the meeting at which the trustees agreed to tho transaction, and the names of those E resent. According to the list published by Bishop Cowie, and the statements made by some of the trustees, the popular impression is that the trustees were in ignorance of the details of the arrangement with Mr. Kissling, and imagined that the whole of the land was being taken by the Defence Department for defence' purposes.
