VISIT OF THE GOVERNOR TO MELBOURNE.
[BY TELEGRAPH.PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. His Excellency the Governor has accepted the invitation of the Victorian Government to be present at tho opening of the Exhibition in Melbourne on August Ist. His Excellency, who will be accompanied by Miss .Jervois and his Private Secretary, will leave here for Sydney by the steamer Wakatipu on Saturday next. Lady Jervois had intended making a visit, but her health will not permit of her undertaking the voyage. During the absence of Sir W. Jervois, Sir James Prendergast will act as Deputy-Governor.
