[press association.] '
London, June 22. At a meeting of the Unionist party today, summoned by the Marquis of Hartington, it was agreed to continue their support to the present Ministry in order to check Mr. Gladstone's ascendancy. A political crisis has therefore been averted.
London, June 23.
The Liberal Unionists have resolved to support the withdrawal of the licensing clauses in the Local Government Bill, provided the Government will allow a debate on Mr. J. Cochran Stevenson's Sunday Closing Bill. Me. W. H. Smith, leader of the House of Commons, has agreed to the proposal.
