ECCLESIASTICAL.

At St. Paul's to-morrow (St. John the Baptist's day) the sermons are on the following appropriate subjects, viz.: "The Baptist's Humility," and "The Baptist, a Pattern." Holy communion will be administered at 8 a.m. and at midday, and holy baptism at 4 p.m. Stainor's anthem, " What Aro These?" is noted for the evening service. A someweat remarkable address on " Love," written by Professor H. T. Drummond, the author of " The Natural Evolution of the Spiritual World." will be read by the incumbent at St. Matthew's to-morrow evening, whilst the subject of the morning's sermon is " Growth Out of Seeming Decadence." The other sen-ices arc an early celebration at 8 a.m., and administration of the Sacrament of Baptism at 3 p.m. The music will be of a festal character, the canticles throughout the day being to Jackson's setting in F, and the evening anthem Weldon's " O, Praise God in His Holiness." The usual services will be held at All Saints (Ponsonby Road) to-morrow. Children's instruction will be given at a quarter to 10, and congregational singing practice will be held at half-past 3 p.m. The anniversary of the dedication of the Church of tho Holy Sepulchre takes place on Friday next, St. Peter's Day, the 29th instant. There will be Holy Communion as usual at 8 a.m., and at 7.30 p.m. there will be choral evensong, with special sermon by the Rev. William Hooper, L).D. ? late principal of the Church Missionary Society's Training College at Lahore, India. The Rev. Joseph Hill will be the preacher at St. Sepulchre's Church to-morrow evening. To-morrow is the Feast of the Nativity of St. John the Baptist, and the services to be held at St. Thomas' Church are announced by advertisement. At the celebration the Introit will be " Like as the Hart," and the hymn during the offertory " Lo From the Desert Homes ; " A. and M. No. 414. The same hymn, No. 414, will be used for the office hymn, both at mattins and evensong. At this church all seats are free.

To-morrow the anniversary of the Richmond Road Sunday School will be held. Sermons will be preached in the morning at 11 by Mr. Tremam, and in the afternoon at 3 by the Rev. A. J. Smith, and in the evening at 6.30 by Mr. R. S. Abel. The children of the Sunday School will sing at each service, and at the publi®meeting which will be held on Tuesday next at 7.30. At the Franklin Road Primitive Methodist Church the Rev. C. E. Ward will preach to-morrow morning at 11, on "The Fruit of the Spirit," and in the evening on " Salvation to tho Erring." At Waterview (Avondale) Rev. C. E. Ward will officiate in the afternoon at half-past two, and Mr. W. Thompson at half-past six. At the Alexandra-street Church the Rev. A. J. Smith will preach in the morning. At the Pitt and Edwinstreets Church service will be conducted by Mr. T. Booth in the morning, and by the Rev. A. J. Smith in the evening. The Rev. R. Laishlcy will officiate at tho Devonport Congregational Church to-morrow morning, and Mr. Lo Bailly in the evening. Service at the Pitt-street Wesleyan Church to-morrow will be conducted by the Rev. E. Best in the morning, and tho Rev. C. H. Garland in tho evening. Tho sermon at the Grafton Road Wesleyan Church, to-morrow morning, will bo by the Rev. A. J. Taylor. The Rev. W. L. Salter will preach in tho evening. . At St. John's Wesleyan Church to-morrow the Rev. C. H. Garland will conduct the service in the morning, and tho Rev. E. Best in the evening. Mr. F. A. White will preach at the Mount Albert Wesleyan Church to-morrow morning and Mr. J. Shackelford in the evening. Pastor George Muller will deliver an evangelical address at the City Hall to-mor-row evening at eight. At the evening service at the Foresters' Hall Mr. E. H. Taylor will lecture on "Great Fundamental Truths." Pastor Gilmore preaches to-morrow morning ?.,nd evening at the Ponsonby Baptist Church. - "The Lore which provided the Propitiatory Sacrifice" will be the subject of Mr. C. E. Button's address to-morrow afternoon at the Young Men's Christian Association Hall. At the Auckland Tabernacle to-morrow Pastor Spurgeon will preach —in the morning on " Day and Night' and "Summer ana Winter,' and in the evoning, " Not far from the Kingdom." "In Sure and Certain Hope" is the title of theßov. J. Chew's address to-morrow morning at the Beresford-street Congregational Church. In the evening it will be " A Soul Above Years." The fourth lecture to young women.

The services at the Pitt and Vineent-strcets United Free Methodist Church will be conducted to-morrow morning and evening bv Mr. H. Field, and Rev. F. B. Dutton. At the Mount Edon Church service will be held at the usual hours. At St. Peter's Surrey Hills Presbyterian Church the Rev. R. Sommerville officiates in the morning, and Mr. Duncan Wright in the evening. The latter will also conduct services in St. Peter's on Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday evenings. " The Lord's Coming " is the subject of the Rev. Dr. O'Callaghan's sermon at the Epiphany Church to-morrow morning. In the evening the subject is " Comfort." Pastor Muller will deliver his final lecture on the Second Advent" at the Y.M.C.A. Hall next Monday evening.

The manager of the Lower Refuge acknowledges with thanks five bags of "Germina" from Mr. J. C. Firth, for the use of the inmates.
