Co.'s Wairarapa took her departure for Southern ports and Melbourne with a general cargo ind passengers. From Dunedin and way ports the s.s. Omapere arrived in port at half-past six yesterday morning with a full cargo of breadstuff's and produce and one passenger. She left Dunedin on the 12+h instant, Oamaru on the 13th, Timaru on the 14th, Napier on the 18th, Gisborne on the 19th, and Tauranga on the 20th, arriving as above. Shortly after being berthed the Omapere be?an discharging, ana having got all her cargo out sailed about six o'clock for Greymouth direct. At eight a.m. yesterday the Northern S.S. Co.'s Stafla started for Opotiki with cargo und passengers under charge of Captain C. Hopkins. She is to run regularly in the Bay »f Plenty trade. Merchants will be glad to learn that the B.s. Ohau is timed to leave Dunedin for this port on Monday next, and will call at Damaru, Timaru, &c. A new funnel was yesterday fitted into the B.s. Rowena, and she was then towed into dock by the tug Awhina. The Rowena is to be put into efficient working order, and will be kept in harbour for some little time as a reserve boat. The s.s. Argyle is to be put into commisBion again by the Northern S.S. Co., and will leave this port on Saturday for Hokianga. We learn that the brigantine Frank Guy, now ?t Napier, has been chartered by Messrs. C. F. James and Co. to take a of timber from Kaipara to Sydney, whence she loads back with coal to this port. At an early hour yesterday morning the uchooner Lizzie Guy came into port from Oatnaru with a cargo of grain, etc. Captain Stevens reports that the schooner left Oamaru a,t 7.30 p.m. on the 14th June, the wind beinu from the S. W. On the 15th she was abreast of Akaroa light, and had strong winds from S. W. with heavy squalls. Cape P&lliser was abeam on the 17th at midnight, and on the 18th a S. W. gale was experienced. tThe seas were very heavy, and one or two broke aboard, shifting the"starboard boat by

breaking the gripes, and dislodging the water casks. The East Cape was rounded at 11 a.m. on the 18th, and light easterly winds prevailed across the Bay of Plenty. The Watchman was sighted at 6.30 on Wednesday evening, and the vessel made the harbour as above, anchoring in the stream till about the afternoon, when she was berthed at one of the western tees. She left Lyttelton at 9 p.m. on the ISth, called at Wellington, and arrived at New Plymouth at 12.30 on the 20th; left for the Manukau at 3..% p.m.; crossed the bar at 5.45 a.m. on the '21st, arriving as abave.
