THE GOLDFIELDS.
Manaia (Blackmore's). — Good gold is still being got from the winze and stopes, and the reef shows indications of making specimens. Dacre's Bush.—lt ie announced that the piece of freehold property, some 280 acres in extent, stretching from almost alongside the Coromandel mine to the Kapanga, has been taken under a lease by some Auckland and Coromandel gentlemen, and that work is to be commenced at once. Twenty acres of the foreshore are also to be taken in. This piece of property has for years been known to carry gold, but little or no work has been done upon ib on account of the difficulty in obtaining permission from the owners. The Golconda ground adjoins the property, and the once famous leader of that mine runs right through it. Quito lately specimens have been got along the foreshore and in the southern portion of the property, by Mr. P. H. Blackmore, who is amohget bhe number who have taken up the ground. Mr. Blackmore is well-known in connection with mining in Coromandel, and, in fact, few have such a good record as he has.
