FATAL ACCIDENT TO AN OLD MAN.
[by TELEGRAPH. —PRESS association.] Christchuuch, Wednesday. An inquest was held at the Hospital this evening on an old man named Peter Garrick, who died from the effects of an accident which occurred on May 18, when both his legs were broken by his being thrown from a cart on the Papanui Road. His horse was startled at the fall of a tree which was being cut down. _ The jury returned a verdict of "Accidental death, with a rider that persons idling trees near roads should warn passengers, in order to prevent accidents.
