AN ABSCONDING BANK TELLER.
[BT TELEGRAriI.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Monday. W. E. Porter, a teller in the Colonial Bank of New Zoaland, has absconded, having left the bank promises at ten o'clock on Saturday. Defalcations are the reported cause. He was last seen at Pakekura, from which it may be inferred that he was making his way to Napier. He was riding a well-known racehorse, Whakatane. The extent of the defalcations have not been made known. In a letter left addressed to a friend, ho sfcaWia his intention to commit suicide, but it is) believed here that this is only intended as a blind. The polico have been communicated with on the mutter, but what stops they have taken have nob transpired. Porter is a young man, and belongs to Wellington.
