AN ABSCONDING BANK TELLER.

[BT TELEGRAriI.—OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Cambridge, Monday. W. E. Porter, a teller in the Colonial Bank of New Zoaland, has absconded, having left the bank promises at ten o'clock on Saturday. Defalcations are the reported cause. He was last seen at Pakekura, from which it may be inferred that he was making his way to Napier. He was riding a well-known racehorse, Whakatane. The extent of the defalcations have not been made known.
