SHOOTING COMPETITION.

The first match for the second handsome medal presented to the Ponsonby Naval Artillery by Mr. T. Peacock, M.H.R., took place on Saturday afternoon at Mount Eden range. The conditions for this medal are that there be three matches each, to consist of 21 shots—7 shots at 200, 300, and 500 yards, and to be won two years in succession or three years at intervals to become the property of the winner.
