A FLOATING WRECK. Brisbane, May 29. The master of the brigantine Lochiel, from the New Hebrides, reports passing the wreck of a vessel about 800 tons, in 28" south lat., 1'47 east long. The name of the derelict was not ascertainable. NEW SOUTH WALES POLITICS. Sydney. May 29. A meeting of the Opposition is shortly to be held to consider the position the prospects and organisation of the party. The action of the leader of the Opposition in proposing a motion of censure on the Government without first consulting the majority will probably be discussed also.

SOUTH AUSTRALIAN ELECTIONS.

Adelaide, May 29. Messrs. Darling and O'Loughlan have been elected to the Assembly for the Northern District.

THE CUMBERLAND DISEASE. Sydney, May 29. The Government have decided to obtain the views of the various Stock Boards in the colony before finally dealing with M. Pasteur's proposals in respect to the Cumberland disease. TASMANIAN HARVEST. Hobart, May 29. The Tasmanian wheat crop yields 673,000 bushels. There is an increase in the acreage, but a decrease of 1.20 bushels per acre on the average.
