MASONIC CEREMONY.

INSTALLATION OF SIR H. ATKINSON

AS D.G.M.

Wellington, Monday. Hon. Sir H. Atkinson was this evening installed District Grand Master of the Wellington (North Island) Grand Lodge of New Zealand, E.C. Upwards of 500 Freemasons were present from all parts of the colony. Brother C. J. Toxward, the retiring D.G.M., performed the installation ceremony, assisted by Brother H. Thomson, D.G.M., Canterbury, Grand Lodge, 8.C., and the members of the District Grand Lodge. The ceremony took place in the old Provincial Chambers, and concluded about nine p.m. A Masonic banquet was afterwards held in the Masonic Hall, Boul-cott-street.

Our special correspondent at Wellington telegraphs »—At the Masonic banquet at Sir Harry Atkinson's installation there were present three knights and a large number of members of the Assembly. The speeches of Sir Harry Atkinson, Sir Robert Stout, and Sir Frederick Whitaker were of the most cordial and fraternal character.
