Meetings. AUCKLAND PERMANENT CO- ( OPERATIVE BUILDING AND INVEST MENT SOCIETY. Tho Sixteenth Annual Meeting of the Auckland Permanent Co-operative Building and Investment Society, for receiving the Annual Report and Accounts, and electing a Committee of Management and Auditor for the ensuing year, will be held in the Lecture Hall of the Young Men's Christian Association, Wellesley-street, on TUESDAY, the 12th June, at half-past seven in the evening. The Half-yearly General Meeting of the abovenamed Society will be held in the Society's Offices on MONDAY, the 25th day of June next, at eight o'clock in the evening. May 20, 1883. mHE INDUSTRIAL AND PROVI- -*- DENT PERMANENT BUILDING, LAND, AND INVESTMENT SOCIETY OF AUCKLAND. In compliance with requisition, I hereby convene a SPECIAL GENERAL MEETING of the abovenamed Society, to bo held immediately after the Half-yearly General Meeting on June 25th pros., to consider the proposed alterations and additions to tho Rules contained in the said requisition as under :— Rule 7.—To alter samo bv adding the following proviso:—" Provided that the Board shall have power to suspend the issuo of Shares at any time it may think St." To adopt the following new Rule, to bo numbered '24 A :— "Reserve Fund.—For the purpose of meeting any contingencies that may arise, and of equalising Dividends, a Reserve Fund nhall be made, consisting of all entrance fees and such other sums as the Board (whose decision shall be final and binding upon all .shareholders and other persons) may from time to time, at any ordinary or special meeting of tho Board, determino on, provided that whenever the amount at the credit of the Reserve Fund shall bo in excess of 5 per cent of the then present Value of Mortgages as attested by the Auditors, such excess shall lie divided according to Rule 25." Rule 11k— To alter same by adding after the word profit* in the fifth line of the said Rule the words followimr in parenthesis (save and except the Reserve Fund, and the sum set apart therefor, but subject to the preceding Rule), and by striking out the words any of in the 3rd line of the 3rd Subsection, and bvs adding after the word payment* in the 4th line of the 3rd Subsection thereof the words "so that they are fineable." Rule 41.—T0 alter same by adding after the word all in the 23rd line of the said Rule the words " fines, interest ami," and by adding after the word instrument in the 25th line of the said Rule the words " from the time of such default till payment or sale." To adopt the following new Rule, to be numbered 42A. 42A.— Further covenants and powers implied in Mortgages. In every Mortgage there shall bo implied the following covenants and powers :— That the Mortgagor shall and will during the continuance of the Security keep the mortgaged premises and every part thereof respectively, or cause tho same respectively to be kept in good substantial repair, and that it shall be lawful for the Society, or its Officers, Agents, or Surveyors, at lawful and reasonable times, to enter into and upon the mortgaged, premises, and view the state of repair and conditions thereof, and of any defect in ihe repair or condition thereof to give notice to tho Mortgagor, who .-shall thereupon, with all reasonable speed, cause the .same to be amended; provided always, and it is hereby agreed and declared, that In case the Mortgagor shall refuse or neglect to make within a reasonable time the repairs reqiu'reri to be made by tho said notice, it .shall be lawful for the Society thereupon, or at any time- thereafter, to enter upon the said premises with all necessary builders, workmen, add other persons, plant, and materials, and to commence and complete the said repairs in such manner and in all respects as the Society may in its absolute discretion think proper, but at the cost of the Mortgagor, and the Mortgagor shall and will repay on demand all such moneys asthe Society shrill have expended in making such repairs, with interest for the same at the rate of ten pounds per centum per annum, from the time of so paying the same until such repayment ; ami that in the meantime and until tho same shall be so repaid with interest as aforesaid, the mortgaged premises shall stand and bo charged with the payment of all such sums and the interest thoreon, but without prejudice to the Society's right to recover all such sums and interest by action or other proceedings in law. And it is hereby declared that the Society shall be in nowise responsible for any loss which may happen in or about the exercise, or in consoqueuco of the omission to exercise, any of the powers herein contained, or otherwise in relation to the premises. Rule r>o.—To alter wuno by adding thereto tho following words, " or who is a member of tho Committee or Hoard of Directors of any other Building Society." Rule 73.—T0 alter same by striking out the word "twenty" in the last line thereof, and substituting therefor the word " ten." Rule 74.—T0 make similar alteration herein. Rule S-}.— To alter same by striking out all words preceding the Table of Fines, and substituting therefor the words following: "When and so often as any member shall neglect to pay his subscriptions or re-payments for four weekly paydays, the member so neglecting shall be fined weekly for each subscription or repayment in arrear (commencing on the fifth week after default), according to the following scale;" and to add at end of rule, after " shares," "and for any longer period."'
