Written tenders will bo received at the Railway Store Office, Newmarket, up to noon of WEDNESDAY, Gth Juno, 1888, for tho purchase of about 500 tons of old rails and scrap wrought iron, of which particulars can be obtained on application. Delivery will be given in trucks as may be mutually arranged between the purchaser and the department, at any public railway siding on the Auckland section, within one week of rocoipt of notice from tho accepted tenderer. Pavmonfc to bo made before removal of tho material, which must bo unloaded within eight hours of arrival, subject to demurrage provided under the traffic by-laws. Weights to be taken from railway weighbridge. Tenders to be marked outside, "Tender for Scrap," must quote a rate per ton all round, and state where and within what period delivery will bo taken.
