TAKAPUNA LICENSING DISTRICT.

Tkh following is the result of the local opbion vote at the Lake on Saturday last: —For an increase of publicans' licenses, 52; against an increase, 34. There were 11 informal votes on this part of the vote. On the question of an increase of accommodation licences 33 voted in favour and 36 against, and here again there were no fewer than 28 informal votes—that is the voter either left this part of his voting paper uncancelled together or struck out both the negative and affirmative, and so rendered hie vote on this question abortive. In all 97 persons voted out of a possible 130. The result of the vote is that there may be pnblicans' licenses granted in he district, but no accommodation or bush " pubs" established for the next three years.
