A goodly audience, mostly composed of ladies, assembled last evening at the Choral Hall, to listen to an address by Mrs. Dudley Ward upon " Our Kindergarten Work. In addition to the ladies upon the platform there were a number of the children of the Kindergarten. The youngsters seemed to enjoy themselves amazingly, and entered into everything they did with a will that spoke volumes for their health and flow of animal spirits. There was also exhibited a number of little articles of knitting and fancy work that had been done by the elder children, as samples of the sort of useful education being given to them. They were in charge of their teachers, Misses Gordon, Blades, Holman, and Turpin. Mrs. Ward's address was full of interesting matter relative to the working of the Kindergarten. She stated they had an average attendance of 85, and there were 140 children on the rolls. The school would accommodate 300. Mrs. Ward stated the committee were out of debt, and had a small balance to their credit. She paid a high compliment to the ladies committee, the secretary (Mrs. Lilly), the teachers, and matron of the creche, for their work, and made a strong appeal for help in the work.
