London, April 26. In the House of Commons, the County Government Bill, introduced by the Parnellite party, was rejected on a division by 282 to 195.
Lord Randolph Churchill spoke in support of the measure, and Mr. Chamberlin supported the Government.
Mr. Gladstone supported the Bill, asserting that Irishmen were quite capable of discharging all civil duties rendered necessary under the Act.
