ECCLESIASTICAL.

The new Church of St. Benedict will be opened to-morrow, at 11 o'clock mass, by His Lordship Bishop Luck. Archbishop Redwood will preach both in the morning and evening. The choir are to render Haydn's No. 3 Imperial Maes, assisted by an orchestra of eighteen performers. "The Inilammatus" will be sung at the ott'ertory by M iss Stephensou, Misses A. and C. Lorrigan singing the solos in the massi. The subject of the evening sermon at St. Matthew's to-morrow is announced as " The Lofty Aspiration of a Sinful Heart." At the morning service Winchester's Bendictus will be sung, and in the evening Jackson's Cantate and Misereatur. At St. Paul's to-morrow the incumbent is announced to preach in the morning on " The Two Realms, and in the evening to deliver an American sermon, entitled '"lhe Devil in Bright Colours." Holy Communion will be administered at 8 a.m. The anthem for evensong is Whitfield's " I Will Lift up Mine Eyes." In terms of promise made when in Auckland some eighteen months ago, Mr. D. Wright, of Otago, is again in our midst with the view of conducting evangelistic missions in the city and suburban Presbyterian churches. Air. Wright's last visit is well remembered by many as a complete success; and as the pastors, office-bearers, Sundayschool teachers, and others in the various districts are sanguine and hopeful in connection with the evangelist's present tour, satisfactory results may be expected. Commencing to-morrow at Onchunga, the arrangements at present include Onehunga, Mangere, Otahuhu, Tainaki, Howick, and Wairoa South, after whicli will come the city churches. As on former occasions, the Rev. G. B. Monro, of Remuera. is acting as honorary secretary. During the last eighteen months Mr. Wright has neld missions in many parts of Otago and the chief towns of Canterbury. The anniversary servioes of St. Peter's Presbyterian Church Sunday-school will be held to-morrow. Mr. Duncan Wright, evangelist, will preach in the morning, the Rev. R. Scott West in the afternoon at 3, and the Rev. R. Sommerville in the evening. The annual fruit soiree on Tuesday. At the Grafton Road Wesleyan Church the Rev. E. A. Telfer will preach morning and afternoon, and the Rev. «J. A. Taylor in the evening. These services will be the last Mr. Telfer will conduct in Auckland, as he leaves by the Alameda on Monday. The anniversary services of the Archhill Woeleyan Church will be held to-morrow; in the morning Mr. H. Field, afternoon Rev. C. H. Garland, and in the evening Rev. E. Best. Offertories in aid of the church trust fund. Soiree on Tuesday. At Pitt-street Wesleyan Chinch the Rev. E. Best morning, and Rev. E, A. Telfer in the evening. This will be his last service in the colony. At the Devonport Congregational Church to-morrow morning service will be conducted by the Rev. H. Robjohns, B.A. Mr. Robjohns, as representative from the British and Foreign Bible Society, London, will no doubt speak of the Society's work in these and other parts, where they have done such a good work in circulating the Scriptures. The Rev. H. J. Lewis will preach at Newton Congregational Church : Morning, " God and Bread;" evening, " The Atonement.' , At Mount Eden Congregational Church the Rev. i>. L. Thomas will preach : Morning, "Present Salvation;" evening, "The New Song." The Rev. J. Chew will preach at Beresfordstreet Congregational Church : Morning, " A Missing Link ;" evening, " True and False Securities." The Rev. R. Bavin conducts the morning and evening services at the Primitive Methodist Church, Alexandra-street. At the Primitive Methodist. Church, Franklin Road, the Rev. C. E. Ward; morning, "Christ Purifying the Temple;" evening, " Counting the Cost." Pastor George Muller will preach at the Tabernacle in the morning, and the Rev. Tb.om.iH Spurgeon in the evening. Pastor George Miiller will deliver the address at the City Hall to-morrow evening at 8 o'clock. He will also speak in the same place on Tuesday at 7.30. The other meetings to be held during next week will be duly advertised. At the .Foresters' Hall, Mr. K. H. Taylor will lecture in the evening on " Obedience to Christ." " Paul on Mars' Hill," will be the subject of Mr. C. K. Button's address to young men in the Young Men's Christian Association rooms to-morrow, at 3 p.m. At the Temperance Hall, the subject tomorrow evening is " The Lord, the Healer of the Body, the Church."
