THE GOLDFIELDS.

[B? TELEGRAPH.— OWN CORRESPONDENTS.] Paeroa, Thursday. Karanoahake. — It is stated here that the Adeline, Dubbo, Rose, Diamond, and Bonnie Jeannie Claims, have been amalgamated, and that they are shortly to be floated as one claim. The Woodstock gold still continues. ENGLISH INVESTMENTS AT COROMANDEL. The Coromandel Mail has the following : —Mr. P. J. Tierney, P., has received a cablegram from home intimating that the money required to commence operations on the Just-in-Time, Conquering Hero, and Colonial mines, had been sent out to Messrs. Hesketh and Richmond, solicitors, Auckland, and instructing him to pay all expenses incurred up to the present. Two men will be put on next week at each of the three mines to open up workings and prospect the ground. Mr. Tierney informs us that he expects a representative of the syndicate who have the matter in hand will be out here shortly, to report on the prospects of the mines, when it is intended to float each of the mines into a large company with a capital of £100,000. The syndicate with which Capt. Thomas is connected is a very influential one, and will stand in the position of promoters; they will have no difficulty in floating the larger companies, should the reports of the representative prove favourable, and as the ground is well known to be rich in mineral wealth, there is little room for uneasiness on this score. It is intended to erect large and powerful machinery on the Just-in-Time ground, and also on the Conquering Hero ground ; while the Colonial will be worked by gravitation. A large battery will be erected on the Driving Creek, in the locality where Ring's sawmill stood; the quartz from the Conquering Hero and Colonial will be treated here. The water-rights for working the machinery have been secured. Captain Thomas will leave England on his return to Coromandel as soon as matters are finally settled, and Mr. Tierney expects to receive word to this effect in a week or two's time. The three companies will be under the management of Captain Thomas.

Cambria. — The mine manager wired yesterday: "251bs picked stone from 11th stope on No. 6 leader."
