Last Sunday afternoon was observed in St. Thomas's Church, Union-street, as "prize day," when, instead of the usual children's instruction, a special service was held in the church, at 3 p.m. The children assembled in the school-room, and marched to the church, preceded by the choir and singing the hymn, " Brightly Gleams our Banner," the handsome processional banner of the Sunday-school, of white lustre and canary and crimson velvet, being borne in front of the procession up the church. The choir reached their places in the chancel, and the children filed off into their various seats in the church with the utmost order and regularity. The Rev. Mr. Dußieu gave a short and earnest addrese to the children and to the parents present, and then proceeded to distribute the prizes, which consisted of books by various wellknown authors. The benediction was then pronounced, and the hymn " Who is on the Lord's side ?" wae sung as a, re-cessional. St. Thomas's school has now a very good attendance of scholar**, but more teachers are required. A good discipline is maintained w the school, and the rules that were drawn up at Easter, 1887, have proved of great service. Wells' Hato Balsam. —If grey, restores to original colour.
