ORE FROM MAROTOTO.
ABOUT 10 TONS TO BE SENT TO
SYDNEY TO-DAY. Mr. Axdkeson, one of the directors of the Marototo G.M.C., roturned from the Thames yesterday, bringing with him 214 bags of ore from tho Marototo mine for shipment by to-day's boat for Sydney. Mr. Anderson also leaves for Sydney, and will give full information to the directors as to the state and prospects of the mine. The mode of treatment of this last parcel of ore will depend on the results obtained from the different processes to which tho parcel of tons recently sent over has been subjected. This lot has been taken in equal quantities from what is known as the A and B drives, which are about 300 feet apart. It may bo reckoned No. 1 average general stuff. The manager reports tho mine looking well, with gold showing freely, especially in tho drive known as B. Mr. Anderson, after tho full examination of the mine he has had, us well as of tho whole locality, informs us that he is well pleased with the purchase, so far as is shown by the work carried on the results are good. About 1000 tons of ore are in view, equal to what is about to be sent to Sydney. Two tunnels have been driven, and each of thorn goes 100 feet along tho reef. One of the drives has ;"iOO feet of backs, and the other 130 feet. Nothing can be said as to the time when crushing will be commenced, because that must depend upon the mode of treatment determined upon. There will, however, be no delay in settling that.
