BUSH FIRE IN CANTERBURY.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Christchurch, Wednesday. A fire broke out in the bash near Oxford, to-day, and driven by a strong N.W. gale, burned down a quantity of bush and fencing. A straw stack and a quantity of timber was also destroyed, also a house belonging to Mr. Neithe, insured in the New Zealand Office for £150. In the afternoon the wind changed to N.E. and prevented several other houses catching fire.
