Co.'s Ohau, after discharging her inward cargo of grain, meal, &c, from the South, took her departure at halfpast three o'clock yesterday afternoon for Westport. She took no passengers from this port, and 'out little cargo. At about six o'clock yesterday morning the B.s. Clansman came into port from Russell and the North, with a large number of passengerrj, and a cargo of gum and produce. At seven last night she left for Tauranga. The lona, which arrived at an early hour yesterday from the Barrier, left in the afternoon for Mercury Bay, and was shortly followed by the Douglas for Bay of Plenty ports. On her outward trip to Sydney, H.M.s. /Swinger called at Russell, and took in a : supply of coaL Tidings of a supposed wreck have come to hand from Mangcnui. Constable Moar, in charge of the Northern district, while journeyiug to the -western coast, between Cape Maria and Ahipara, found on the beach a figrire-head, apparently of a large ship, which nad evidently been washed ashore very recently. Attached to the figure-head was an ivon plate, two feet long, painted dark green. X£he paint on both wood and iron appeared •quite freshly put on, and the broken portion t>f the former also appeared fresh. Further hidings concerning the matter will be anxi»usly awaited. . On her last trip to Hokianga, the s.s. orlenelg took up a number of new settlers, Who purpose to take up sections at Waimatnaku. After Occasioning no slight amount of trouble to her owner, the missing cutter •Henry was found yesterday all right, hard and fast on a mud-bank in Shoal Bay. As was surmised, the mooring chain was too *hort, and as the tide rose the anchor was lifted, and the vessel drifted away on the tide. She was got off at flood tide, and was conveyed back to her old anchorage. At Kohukohu, Hokianga, the barque Devonport arrived on Easter Monday from Auckland. She is to load baulk timber there for Mr. W. B. Jackson, Sydney. ' The schooner Julia Fryce will clear for Jtarotonga to-day, and probably sail early on Monday. Although it was intended that the brigan, tine Seabird should proceed to Melbourne .when she had completed her discharge, her final port has now been altered, and she sailed yesterday forenoon for Mercury Bay, where she will take in 120,000 feet of sawn timber for Sydney.

PORT OF ONEHUNGA.

DEPARTURES. Wairaka, s.s., Grant, for the South.— Union S.S. Co., agents. EXPORTS. Per s.s. Staffa: 10 cases cucumbers, 36 coses drapery, 6 cases grapes, 2 crates oranges, 1 cask crockery, 7 chests tea, 6 casks, 10 cases spirit*, 10 cases kerosene, 2 cases tobacco, 6 cases goods, and 46 sundry packages. The Union Co.'s s.s. Wanaka, Captain Grant, for the South, took her departure at 5 o'clock yesterday evening, with cargo and passengers. The Hokianga bar was again reported very bad yesterday, and it was thought doubtful that the Glenelg would get out last evening. It is a long time since there has been such a continuation of heavy weather on the West Coast. An inquiry was held at tho Customhouse, Onehunga, yesterday, by Mr. T. Hill, Collector of_ Customs, into the circumstances surrounding the loss of a man at Kaipara Bar. The inquiry, for some inexplicable reason, was private.
