FRENCH EVACUATION.
Brisbane, March 28 The French troops are heartily glad to leave the New Hebrides. All but two have had fever. It is impossible to sleep ashore without catching fever. London, March 26. Lord Knutsford, in his reply to Sir Graham Berry's protest, states that he had only just heard of England's proposal to yield up the New Hebrides in return for France ceasing to -deport convicts to New Caledonia, and that he had called the attention of the French Government to the last batch of convicts that was sent.
