PONSONBY REGATTA CLUB.
The weekly meeting of the Ponsonb3* Regatta Club was held last evening in the Ponsonby Club Hotel. There was a good attendance, and the final arrangements in regard to the meeting on Easter Monday were discussed. The tender of Hunter's Artillery Band was accepted for the supply of music on board the flagship Clansman. It was decided to hire the s.s. Maori as tender to the flagship, and the Maori will therefore ply fit intervals between the Queen-street and Ponsonby Wharves. As a good deal of misapprehension appears to exist in regard to the 2J-ton yacht race the owner of the crack yacht Mascotte has decided not to compete for that event, but has instead entered his clipper for the 4-ton boat race alone. Many • others appeared to be afraid to enter because of the Mascotte, but the field is now left open for them, and the secretary will receive entries until this evening. Up to the time of the starting of the races post entries will be taken for the tub race, greasy boom, and the several canoe races. The following were the entries received last night:—
