At Messrs. Tonks and Co.'s auction mart, to-day, a valuable section of city property, l>ftin an allotment with H.'! feet frontage to Victoria-street West, and :!3 feet frontage to Duke-street, with a depth of 70 feet, was submitted for sale, and was, after some brisk Lidding, knocked down to Mr. Hazlett at the low figure of £Ti~>.
A superior business building site in Upper Symonds-street, was also offered by Messrs. Arthur and .Buddie. It being a corner allotment at East-street, some little competition ensued for its possession, the final bid being £285, at which it was sold. That valuable property in Newton, comprising the Crown Bakery, Newton Baths and Laundry, and the freeholds upon which they stand, was also offered by Messrs. Arthur and Buddie, but as no purchaser was available, it was- finally bought in by the mortgagee.
