BANKRUPTCY.
DEBTOR'S EXAMINATION. J. R. Williams.—John Robert Williams, bankrupt, -when examined on Saturday before the Official Assignee, said that he had followed the occupation of a clerk for the past ten years, and was in regular employ in the Government service at Wellington until August, 1880. He then took up an appointment in Auckland in the service of the National Mutual Life Insurance Association, with a guarantee of £25 per month for six months. Business was not satisfactory, and at the expiration of nine months the debtor's connection with the Association ceased. Since May, 1887, he had had occasional employment only. He had no means when he arrived from Wellington, and he had saved nothing during his term of employment. Witness's debts amounted to £150 12s 10d, and his assets were his household furniture, estimated at £45, and a sum of £6 14s owing to him by the Government.
