In Carpentaria there is a grape vine, the property of Mr. Jacob Wilson, tliafc exceeds the famous Montecito vine that was forwarded to the Centennial in 1876. At the butt it measures 5 feet) 10 inches. It is of the Misten variety, and is reputed to be the largest grape vine in the world. Supported by a trellis, it covers an area, of ground almost 100 feet square. Two years ago it produced four tons of grapes.

Our Kaitaia own correspondent writes The local Agricultural Show committee held a meeting on Saturday last, and decided that a show shall be held on the 17th March next. Tenders in the meantime are to be called for the erection of the necessary yards. It is to be hoped that the settlers generally will be more willing to compete for the prizes than they were last year.
