In 1861, £130,000 for the Tooley-street fire, and in Chicago and Boston* tires, respectively, £100,000 and £50,000. Its reserves now amount to over a MILLION STERLING, and its numerous wealthy proprietors, with unlimited liability, furnish an undoubted guarantee of security to policy-holders.
