THE FLEET AT WELLINGTON.

Wklungton, Saturday. The local Naval Brigade entertained the seamen of the squadron at a ball laat night. Whilst the squad from the Nelson was practising at the butts yesterday a splinter from a bullet struok Seaman Sampson (who was engaged marking) in tho left eyo, destroying the sight.
In the match between the officers of the squadron and the Wellington Club the latter won on the Ist innings by 40 runs. Werry scored 50 for the winning side.
Sunday, A sailing race between boats belonging to the squadron took place in the harbour yesterday afternoon. A cutter from H.M.s. Diamond won easily, the Nelson's boat being second.
The squadron will weigh anchor at eleven to-morrow, and at noon they leave for Sydney direct.
His Excellency the Governor will be a passenger by H.M.e. NelsoD, and the guest of the Admiral during the voyage. To-day the weather ia delightful, and thousands of people have visited the warships. The Nelson and the Calliope are the two vessels which attraofc most attention.
