The barque Loongana was off Whangaroa on Saturday last, and had been there since Wednesday last, Captain Home being unable to reach an anchorage inside owing to the adverse itats of the weather.

On Saturday last the brigantine Magellan Cloud west up to B Agnail's mill, there to load timber for Brisbane. Tha same day the barque Alice Muir was towed from Blair and Gillespie's mill to off Graham*town- To-day she is to sail with her cargo of timber for Melbourne, The barque Caberfeidh is now engaged loading at Blair and Gillespie's mill at the Thames with timber for Melbourne. She will get away about the end of the year. H.M.s. Nelson and Rapid both arrived in harbour on Saturday morning from Sydney and Cooktown respectively. In another column -will be found further particulars respecting these vessels.

The barque Lurline was berthed aS the Queen-street Wharf on Saturday last, and to-day she is to start the landing of her cargo. During a heavy gale at Algoa Bay, where she put in to land her master, the Lurline lost both of her anchors, with some 45 fathoms of chain on each. This occurred on the day the barque tailed.

Tho a.s. Clansman, lona, and Douglas all arrived in harbour since our last issue. They leave again this evening, the Clansman for Northern ports and the lona for Tauranga via way ports. The s.s. Suva, from Wellington and East Coast ports, arrived yesterday morning. Cap* »in Splnka report» that the Suva left Wellington at 4.30 p.m. on the 13th, arrived at Napier ,t 2.15 p.m. on. the 14th ; left again at 7 p.m. »n the 15th, arrived in Gisborne at 5.20 a.m. »n the 16th; left at 8 a.m., called at Tologa Bay, Tnparca, and Hicks Bay, and arrived in Auckland as above. Experienced fine weather from Wellington to East Cape, thence light head winds and heavy swell to White Island, thence fine weather to arrival.

The s.s. Janet Nicoll is to go up the harbour as far as Lucas' Creek, there to take in. her baulk timber, which will be rafted down to her there. To the Janet Nicoll belongs the honour of being one of the largest vessels that has as yet visited so far up that part of the waters of the Waitemata.
