THE SITUATION IN PARIS.

THE PRESIDENT'S RESIGNATION.

M. GREVY RETRACTS.

[UEUTEH's TELEGRAM.)

Paris, December 1. M. Greyy has intimated to the Ministry that owing to the change in the political situation he does not intend forwarding a message to the National Assembly to-day. M. Rouvier, Premier, after announcing the President's intention to both Chambers, will again tender the resignation of himself and colleagues to M. Grevy, in order that the latter may proceed with the formation of a Cabinet, as he has proposed. It is generally expected that M. de Freycinet will be elected President. The Extremist party has threatened to erect barricades throughout the city, and to resort to bloodshed if M. Ferry is elected to the Presidency. [PBESS ASSOCIATION.] London, December 1. M. Blowitz, the Paris correspondent of the Times, predicts that M. de Freycinet will, on the second ballot, be elected President of France by an immense majority. The Cornto de Paris denies that he forged Orleanist despatches.
