THE MAMMOTH MINE.

Cambria: The mine manager reports :— The crosscut at No. 3 level iB now in a <iistanoe of 210 feet. The 401ba of specimens reported from here on Friday and Saturday last came to hand from a small leader that came in on the western side of the crosscut and jauotioned with a small stringer that came in from the eastern side of the crosscut. It was at the junotion of the two where the specimens were obtained. 121bs of specimens were obtained from here today, and gold left, showing in the back of the drive. The leader is now running in •boat the same direction as the crosscut. The drive west on the Mo, 1 footwall leader is in a distance of 121 feet. In the face of this drive the leader is about 18 inches in thickness. Gold was seen freely through the quartz when breaking down the leader. The leading slope west on the No. 1 footwall leader is along 100 feet. In the face of this stope the leader is IS inches in thickness. Dabs and colours of gold were seen through the quartz when breaking down the leader. The second stops west on the No. 1 footwall leader is 85 feet. The leader in the face of this stope is one foot in thiokness. Gold is being seen freely through the quartz when breaking the leader down. The drive west on the .No. 5 leader is now in a distance of 56 feet, The leader in the face of the drive is nine inches in thickness. Gold is being seeu freely through the quartz when breaking down the leader. Gold is also being seen in the stringers on the footwall of the leader. The second stope west on the No. 5 leader is along 32 feet. 251b of picked stone were obtained from here on Thursday last. Gold was seen freely through the quart/ when breaking the leader down on Saturday last. The drive west on No. 6 leader is in 15 feet. Gold is being seen through the stringers of quartz when breaking them down. The leading stope west on No. 6 leader is along nine feet. Gold is also being seen when breaking the stringers down. Eighty-five loads of quartz have been crushed during the week for the return of 262uz of amalgam. In addition, the berdanninga yielded 20oz of amalgam.
