VOLUNTEER INTELLIGENCE.
Wairoa Sooth Rules, — The members of the above corps assembled at their rifle range on Saturday last, 24th instant, at nine a.m., for musketry instruction practice, second period, second class. The following scores were mnde:—Captain Crawford, 32 points; Lieutenant J. Creighton, 30; Sergeants J. E. Wilson, 30; D. Wright, 41; O. Walker, 37; Corporals, B. A. Contts, 26; L. Wallis, 19; Bugler Eraser, 25; Volunteers H. Alexander, 33 ; R. Atchison, 21; G. Bell, 31; W. A. Bell, 25; H. D. Clow, 25; J. Colquhoun, 29; J. Cowan, 15; W. Creighton, 16; W. 8. Elliott, 7; F. G. Hale, 30; G. J. Hale, 11; H. Henderson, 27; J. Hove, 14; W. Hoye, 24; C. D. Kemp, 20; W. Kerr, 48; J. Matheson, 38; S. McCullough, 20; W. Mclntyre, 17; P. Molntyre, 24 ; J. R. McEenzie 31; A. MoDonald, 27 5 J. Pollook, 25; W. Pollook, 26 T. Richards. 22 G. Stephens, 16; E. C. Sutherland, 24 ; A. Ward, 22; G. White, 7 ; R. Palmer, 20; J. Hill, 26 ; E. Hill, 34. After the completion of the firing, an inspection parade of the company was held at the Public Hall, when the parade state was: One captain, one lieutenant, one colour-sergeant, three sergeants, three corporals, one bugler, and thirty-three privates : total of all ranks, 43. This corpß has decided to apply for two of the RemingtonLee Rifles, and 600 rounds of ammunition for the same; also to send two representatives to the New Zealand-Rifle Association meeting, which is to be held at Oamaxu.—[Own Correspondent.!
