Giktluikn,— Some months ago it was determined by ballot which of two Directors simultaneously elected should retire, and the ballot having been determined in my favour, I considered the matter so far settled that in my circular letter I felt justified in stating that " I am not now standing for re-election as a Director." But the parties (o the ballot now assert thai; the manner of so determining which Director should retire and which remain was not warranted, by the Articles of Association, and that it will be necessary for ma to be re-elected In order to retain my seat on the Directory.
