FERFUL TRAGEDY IN NEW GUINEA.
CofiKTCWN, September 13. The late3t advices from Port Moresby state that a fearful tragedy has occurred at Orangerie Bay. The cutter Cecilia, which left here oil Ist July with Messrs. Gustav Riccius, T. Heerau, and William Hanson, left Lizard Island on 18th July, and arrived on the coast of New Guinea on the 23rd, eventually making Orangerie Bay on the :26th of the same month. The natives came otf in canoes, and appeared friendly, but suddenly attacked the boat, killing Heer&n and Hanson, and desperately wounding Riccius, who was thrown overboard and swam ashore. He was eventually resoued by Captain Ah Gim, who discovered his whereabouts from the natives, and took him to Port Moresby. The victims were naturalised British subjects.
