CEREMONY AT ST. PATRICK'S CATHEDRAL.
The interesting ceremony of the renewal of the baptismal vows by the children attending St. Patrick's and the Ponsonby Sundayschools took place at three p.m. yesterday in the Cathedral, in the presence of His Lordship Bishop Lack, the Rev. Fathers Hackett, l.eniban, and Thomas, and a number of the pareuts and friends of the children. The younger children in their white dresses, and the members of the various societies —the Children of Mary, in their blue capes and veils, and the Guard of Honour of the Blessed Sacrament, with their badges, as also the orphan children from St. Mary's Orphanage —made up a very pleasing /spectacle. His Lordship gave a short address to the young people, telling them that, like their elders, they were called upon to vote ; but their vote was to be given for Jesus Christ, and against Satan and the other enemies of their salvation. Miss Vivian Little then read the usual form of the vows very distinctly, and the ceremony concluded with the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament, given by the Rev. Father Lenihan. The children's choir sang a number of hymns during the ceremony, the concluding one, " Brightly Gleams Our Banner," being given very effectively.
