SERIOUS ACCIDENT.
On Saturday morning a man named John Gardiner met with a serious accident in Wyndham-street. He was driving a horse in n brake when the animal slipped at a street grating and fell. Gardiner whipped the horse up, when it bolted down the street, and Gardiner was thrown out against a lamp-post, sustaining a compound fracture of the ankle, and getting a scalp wound. Gardiner was taken to Mr. Aickin's, chemist, where Dr. Erson put the injured member iu splints. Cojstable Cotter got a cab and toot; Gardiner to the Hospital, where he J» doi>. j fairly well.
