The Kopuru Strollers gave a concert at Dargaville on Friday under the directorship of Father Kehoe, The s.s. Zephyr conveyed passengers from Kopuru and intermediate centres to D&rgaville, many availing themselves of the opportunity. Although a correspondent to your paper stated a short time since that there was not a hall north of Auckland capable of seating 200 people, X can assure him that close on 300 persons were comfortably seated in the Dargaville Hall on this occasion. I can assure him also that I have seen 250 persons accommodated in the Aratapu Hall. The Kopuru Strollers have already earned a reputation since the advent of Father Kehoe to the Wairoa, and Dargavillians pronounced the late concert there as superior to anything previously held in the township. There were several glees by the Stroller Company, all of which were really ezoellent and beautiful. No encores were to be allowed, but the last glee, "The Three Chafers," was so much enjoyed that the audience demanded an encore, and by persistent effort secured it. Other glees sung were: "Annie's Tryst," "Rule Britannia," "Soldier's Love." Songs were given by Messrs. W. J. Phillips, " Mrs. Jones' Musical Party;" F. W. Phillips, "True Till the Last;" F. J. Morath, " All la Lost," a selection from " La Somnambula James Molloy, "Don't Give This Name a Bad Place." The piece of the evening was a duet by Father Kehoe and F. J. Morath, "Love and War." Mrs. Dargaville accompanied on the pianoforte, and the dnet was altogether superb. Father Kehoe accompanied all the other pieces in his talented style, The farce, " Betsy Baker," coneluded the entertainment. This, too, was the work of Kopuru talent. The caste was: Betsy Baker, Miss Louise Phillips; Mrs. Mouser, Mrs. Koos; Mr. Mouser, Mr. Harvey; Crummy, Mr. F. W. Phillips. The characters were very well taken, Mits Phillips and Mr. Harvey being almost faultless. A dance followed, the music being provided by Messrs. T. Molloy and A. Webb.—[Own Correspondent, August 22. )
