Waihi. — The last load of Union ore this season came through yesterday, and will be sent per Kotuku on Thursday to Auckland, to catch the first English direct boat. The Martha Company's battery is again at full work. _ Trenton, — The mine manager reports : — The south crosscut has been driven 25 feet during the past week. The drive passed through 18 feet of good sandstone country in tho beginning part of the week, but for the last three days it has been hard blue rock in the face of the drive. There appears to be a change coming in, as the country is lighter in the colour and easier bored. Diamond.—lnstructions have been sent to crush all the quartz on hand at the Moanataiari battery, and to engage transport thither without delay. [by telegraph, —press ASSOCIATION.] Hokitika, Tuesday.. A rush has set in between Hokitika and Kumara towards the beach, near the old Lamplough lead. Gold has been struck in a tunuel 150 feet long. The wash prospect gave a grain to the dish. The ground is improving.
