ABORTIVE LIBEL ACTION.
[BY TELEGRAPH.—PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. At the Supreme Court Sittings to-day the libel action, Mrs. Roeberry, proprietress of an oyster saloon on Lambton Quay, against J. C. Harris, proprietor of the New Zealand Times, was heard. The action was to recover £100 damages for alleged libel contained in a paragraph which said "a frightful stench arose from plaintiff's premises, which was an inconvenience to the occupants of the Branch Hotel, the adjoining premises." Judgment was entered for this defendant with costs on the lower scale.
