WELLINGTON A NR. THE QUEEN'S JUBILEE.
[BY TELEGRAPH. —PRESS ASSOCIATION.] Wellington, Wednesday. lA. mkkting of the committee elected to forrni ate proposals for celebrating the Queen Jubilee was hold to-night. The committei which is a thoroughly representative on< was presided over by His Excellency th Governor, and the following resolutions wet garried—"l. That this meeting recognise that Her Majesty has siguified that th shape of the celebration which would b most pleasing to her would be the erectio of an Imperial Institute, representative of a parts of the Empire; 2. That for the pui pose of raising funds for the proper con: memoration of Her Majesty's Jubilee it i desirable that a subscription list be opened on the underspending that at least 50 per cent of all sums subscribed (or the whole at th option of the subscribers) be devoted to th Imperial Institute, and the balance to sue! looal purpose as may hereafter be deter mined." These resolutions will besubmittei to a public meeting to be held shortly, a which the Governor will preside.
