Ser« geant Pratt said Mr. Cotter had been retained for the defence, and had asked him to have the case remanded. The police had no objection, and the case was accordingly X, remanded till next day. Assaulting his Wife.—Henry England was charged with assaulting his wife, ElizaI 8 both England, by throwing a tub at her. There was no appearance of either party, and the case was struck out.
