THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP. [BY TELEGRAPH.—PRKSS ASSOCIATION , .] IsvEROARGiLL, Monday. At Riverton Regatta Heam (Wellington) won the Champion Sculling Match easily, Palamount (Port Chalmers), second; Beer (Riverton), third. The day waa miserably wet, but there was no wind to interfere with the race, which was got off without mishap or foul. THE TARANAKI ENCAMPMENT. Nkw Plymouth, Mondcy. The Easter encampment was attended by 500 spectator?. No sham fight was held, but the volunteers drilled from six a.m. till noon. At one p.m. a revisw was held by Msjor-General Whitmore, and was very successful. The march past was admirably executed. The review concluded at four, i and preparations for leaving the camp co<n« j menced. The Wellington men left at five by special train, also tho Napier and Wanganui contingents. The Westport and Nelson volunteers left to-night, having marched from camp to the Breakwater, where the steamers were waiting. Tho march at night through New Plymouth attracted a large crowd of spectators, who cheered the men lustily. The Cavalry leave to-morrow and all the Infantry left to-day, except the Wan ganui Cadets. The encampment has been a great success, the only drawback being that the food was badly cooked. BICYCLE RACES, Christchctrch, Monday. The weither was splendid for tiso holiday. A large namber of people visited Samner and New Brighton. The Baud of Hope demonstration in Hagley Park was largely attended. Two thousand people were present at the Christchurch Bicycle Club's racee, where the ten mile champiouship was won by Bean, of the Christchurch Club; Hall, Pioneev Club, second; and J. Painter, Christchurch Club, third. Time, 32min 59 2-oth sec. FOOTBALL MATCH. CiiiiiSTCHURCH, Monday. The football match to-day, Sydenham v. Union (Wellington), was won by the former by two goab and a try to a try.
